Did
you know that the
"Safe
Drinking Water Act" does not apply to private wells?
______________
The EPA's rules only apply to "public drinking water
systems" -
government or privately run companies supplying water to 25
people or 15 service connections.
______________
Did you know that well water often contains the E-Coli virus?
______________
The
E-Coli virus becomes non-active within 5 minutes when exposed to 100ppm of Adya Ionized Mineral Solution.

What About Ground
Water or Well Water?
|
| Forty-seven percent
of the United States depend
on ground water for their basic drinking water supply.
Having a basic understanding about
ground water quality will help ensure that your well is supplying potable
water for your household. Along with human activities, water quality is
affected by a combination of natural processes. Most relate to chemical
compositions underground. However, other factors such as biological,
physical, and radiological conditions
can affect water quality as well. If you have your
own well, you are responsible for making sure that your water is safe to
drink. Private wells should be tested annually for nitrate and coliform bacteria to detect contamination problems
early. Test more frequently and for other contaminants, such as radon or
pesticides, if you suspect a problem. Check with your local health
department and local public water systems that use ground water to learn
more about well water quality in your area and what contaminants you are
more likely to find. More information is available on EPA's
page for private well owners.
The National Ground Water Association recommends that water well owners
have their wells checked and tested by a certified and/or licensed
contractor every year to ensure water safety.

The chart below will help you spot
problems. The last five problems listed are not an immediate health
concern, but they can make your water taste bad, may indicate problems,

Should
I Be Concerned?
|
|
You should be aware because
the Safe Drinking Water Act
does not protect private wells.
EPA's rules only apply to "public drinking water systems" -
government or privately run companies supplying water to 25 people or 15
service connections. While most states regulate private household wells,
most have limited rules. Individual well owners have primary
responsibility for the safety of the water drawn from their wells. They
do not benefit from the government's health protections for water systems
serving many families. These must comply with federal and state
regulations for frequent analysis, testing, and reporting of results.
